Carmen Leon, a California native born in San Francisco in early 1940s. Coming into the world at the beginning of WWII, it was a time of both uncertainty and opportunity. For many filled with hope, fear, and prayer. Coming from poverty, being a minority, with both parents being Spanish only speakers, there were it's challenges.
